Restorations
Restorations are the method used to repair the missing part of a tooth, whether due to a fracture or a cavity. Fillings are materials placed inside the tooth when the cavity is small. Crowns cover the entire tooth when the cavities are larger.
A stainless steel crown is recommended when a cavity is too large, reaches the nerve, or covers many surfaces of a tooth. This restoration is the most durable and covers all the sides of the tooth, thus preventing new cavities. It will fall out naturally when the permanent tooth underneath will erupt.

In certain cases when aesthetics are a concern, it is possible to place a white zirconia crown on the molars. These crowns are not covered by medicare (RAMQ).

These are gray-colored restorations made of various metals. These restorations are very durable and have been used for decades.

These are tooth-colored restorations and are more aesthetically pleasing. They are preferred in certain cases. These restorations are not covered by the RAMQ.

Minimally invasive treatments
In certain situations, it is possible to treat cavities conservatively, avoiding the use of local anesthesia and the removal of tooth structure. We offer these solutions whenever possible.
Sedation and Anesthesia
Every child is unique and has their own specific needs. We have many techniques in our toolbox to help a child overcome the fear and anxiety that may be associated with dental treatments. However, sometimes a child may need a little pharmacological help to be able to complete the treatment that he/she requires. Following our evaluation, these are the different options that we may offer.

Minor surgery
A child may require minor dental surgical procedures that may be recommended by our team or another healthcare professional, such as an orthodontist.
